Online traveller declaration required for all arrivals and departures
Since 1 July 2026, most travellers entering or leaving South Africa by air, land, sea or rail must submit an online traveller declaration to SARS before travelling, via the SARS website or the SATMS app. Keep the confirmation for the border. Transit passengers who stay airside are excluded. This is separate from visa requirements.
